At the end of his workday today, Bryan came upstairs and asked Topher to come give him a hug, Topher obliged and Bryan scooped him up. I looked up when I heard Bryan comment on the hug. Topher had his arms and his legs wrapped tightly around Bryan. When asked about it, Topher said, "I'm hugging you with my feet."

Hold On
I love that Phoebe still wants to have long conversations with me about all the things in her head. I recognize that this will probably not last for much longer, so I'm trying to savor it now. When I'm in the middle of a task and she comes up to me and says she just needs a mom hug, which happens several times a day, I try to remember the finite nature of childhood. Then I hug her and hold on as long as she'll let me.
I am exceptionally thankful for these moments.

Fitness Routine
Recently Topher has been starting his days with a few push-ups. Apparently he learned about them from Phoebe. It's adorable.

Roll to the Rescue
Topher discovered the show Rescue Bots last week. He's both fascinated and a little scared of it. If anything gets too intense he yells out that he "doesn't want to watch this one!" Then we turn it off and he asks to go back and watch it again. Then he spends time making robot sounds and folding himself onto the floor, mimicking a specific robot's transformation.
Today we found that there is a new Rescue Bots show, Rescue Bots Academy. The animation is a little different and the new Bots appear smaller. Later in the day Topher asked if he could watch "baby Rescue Bots." He's right, they do kind of look like babies.
And it's not nearly as intense as the original.
He's a fan.

Bambi
On one of our walks recently we were joined by a very speedy fawn. It came running at us twice, then veered each time just before reaching us. The second time it stopped and turned to see what we were doing. Topher grabbed his chance and made his own mad dash in an attempt to touch it. The fawn took the cue and ran off into the trees.
It was pretty magical.
