Captain's Log, Stardate -311970.0195649416

I spent some time on Sunday night looking through old posts. I was searching for something specific (I never did find it) and opened a dozen or so old posts. You know what? I'm really thankful for this blog. There were conversations and accomplishments that I had totally forgotten. I realize that I've said it before but I want to say it again: without this blog I would have forgotten so many stories about the boys from the last two and a half years.

More than just the blog, I think I've really gained a testimony of keeping a journal. I'm sure, much like many other aspects of my testimony, it's something that will continue to grow as I follow the counsel to write in a journal.

I wonder why I've been able to write the blog on a regular basis, but I am far less successful when it comes to putting pen to paper. Is it the typing I like? The friendly hum of the computer? The cheerful glow of the screen?

Hmm... I think I need to hang out with people more and the computer less.

I LOVE going back and reading through my blog. My writing style has changed a lot so some of it bugs me, but mostly I just love remembering all that stuff I would have forgotten if I hadn't bothered blogging it!

And ya, I can't be bothered to keep a real journal. I much prefer blogging.

i'm with you...i love how many things i've captured on my blog that would otherwise be forgotten. I was never a consistent journaler before the blog....i think there is some sort of "accountability" (knowing people are going to read) that keeps me posting, as well as getting feedback.....anyway, whatever it is, i'm grateful for it too.

I so hear you! I love going through and reading my old blog posts. I think it's so important to document life and am bothered when other people see blogging as a "waste of time" or if people don't bother writing for months at a time (I try to tell myself it is their loss, but I am prideful and have a hard time with it.)

I am a much better blogger than pen-and-paper journaler, too. Probably because it takes less time, but even when I was keeping a Word Processor journal it wasn't as good as a blog. I think I have been inspired by the community of it -- reading other people's blogs (and then thinking, "hey, I should post about that, too!") and, of course, getting feedback on posts is always nice.

I feel like my childrens' childhoods will be fairly well documented, as well as my own personal growth. And that rocks. Yay blogs!! :-D
