On Saturday morning Bryan bundled up and headed outside to gather leaves before the snow that was expected on Sunday morning arrived. He asked if anyone could come outside and gather sticks from around the trees in the backyard. That turned into the rest of us digging out our warm clothes (it was cold!) and attempting to help outside. We really did get a lot of work done, but there was also a lot of playing. For every wagonload of leaves, there was a ride for at least one child on the way back.
We ended the adventure with a much cleaner backyard and mugs full of hot chocolate.
Bryan's timing was excellent. We woke up on Sunday morning to just enough snow for a celebratory dance in our pajamas. Don't worry, they came in after a few minutes. They kept telling me how wonderful it felt outside. They did not inherit their love of the cold from me.
