Emma and Paige are back at their own house now, but not everyone was willing. When Paige told Emma that they needed to go home she said she didn't want to leave. Paige reminded her that she had to get back for school. Emma thought about it and relented, but said after school she needed to get back to Topher. Those cousins sure had a lot of fun while they were together.
My two favorite overheard conversations between Topher and Emma during their visit, so far:
Topher: Emma, why did you come to visit?
Emma: Oh, because I wanted to play with you. And I love you.
Topher: Oh. Thank you.
Topher: Emma, do you want to play with me?
Emma: Um, unfortunately, yes.
It warmed up enough between Conference sessions and rainstorms on Saturday that we went for a walk. We weren't the only ones that wanted to enjoy the sunshine. Can you see who greeted us as we left our house?
We just finished my favorite weekend that happens twice each year. Saturday started strong with the kids doing a great job listening to General Conference. By the Sunday afternoon session the wheels had come off a bit and we were having a harder time listening. However, I still heard many wonderful talks. The entire Sunday morning session spoke to my soul, but I would say the top two talks were President Nelson's talk and President Johnson's talk. They were wonderful and exactly what I needed to hear.
I love General Conference weekend.
I've been working on a pretty large house project since last Friday. On Monday I started putting together a new piece of furniture for that space. I'm now up to four different cuts on my left hand, all from opening packaging of tools and furniture components. It made doing the dishes rather tricky. Apparently home improvement is hazardous to my health.
