I took the kids hiking today. Some of the paths were paved. Some were so full of tree roots and rocks that Peter had to lift the front of the stroller while I held up the back in order to pass the obstructions. Some of the walkways were wide. Some were narrow and bordered by poison ivy. The kids alternated between being terrified by the bugs and possibly dangerous plant life to being in awe of the beauty all around them.
It was a good two hours.
