During bath night last week I helped Phoebe out of the water and she tried to stand on the edge of the tub.
Me: Oh Phoebe, don't stand on the edge of the tub, that's dangerous, you don't want to slip and fall.
Phoebe: But it's okay if you have monkey feet.
Me: No, you still don't stand on the edge of the tub.
Phoebe: Mom, it's okay, I can do it because I have monkey feet. I'm a monkey.
I think I finally convinced her.
I've never called my children monkeys. Bryan likes to refer to them as chickens (as a term of endearment), as in "Come on Chickens!" We pretend to be tigers and puppies and kittens pretty often. But not monkeys.
Maybe that's why she likes to climb so much.
