We have a new "running off" rule for when we're in public with the kids. The boys don't have to be right next to us, but they have to be able to get back to holding our hands by the time we count to five. This week we were out and Cooper was getting a little too far away. Bryan called him back and counted to five. Cooper didn't quite make it back in time, so he got into a little trouble.
A few minutes later it happened again. But this time it was Phoebe who called out for him to come back. She counted to five, then she announced that he was in trouble.
Bryan: Phoebe, that's our job. Remember, you're not his mom.
Phoebe: But I AM a girl.
That's an important first step...
