Absent

The boys have decided to adopt wildly different schedules. Peter has started waking up between 6 and 6:30 in the morning. Not cool. Cooper, on the other hand hasn't been settling down until between 11 and midnight. This makes for a very tired mommy. Oh, and no time to blog.

Hope to be back soon.

Oh, who needs sleep anyway? Here's some mommy reality. This sleep thing this is totally messed up! When they are little we want them to sleep in and what do they do...they get up early. When they are teenagers we want them to get up before noon...but they want to sleep in. You just can't win. Seems like once you have a child you might as well say goodbye to any meaningful sleep. I'm sorry to break the news. Trouble doesn't stop there. Just when they start leaving the house to be out on their own, something happens to our bodies and sleep is once again an issue. Most of us can't sleep much anymore. I don't know if it's a result of all the years of kids and messed up schedules or if our bodies are just playing a joke on us. I haven't figured it out yet. I think about it when I'm up in the wee hours of the morning. I do have a solution. Find someone like me,( pick me, I volunteer myself) who is up between 4:45 and 5:00 everyday anyway, to hang out with Peter until you're good and rested each morning. Being "mommy tired" is different from being just plain old and tired. Mommy tired is aching to get some sleep. The other is aching and not being able to sleep-put together. Being mommy tired is very challenging! I don't know which one I'd rather be right now because I'm too tired to figure it out! Ha Ha Ha

We also have the "opposite schedule" problem. One benefit (I have to look at the brightside, or I'll die) is that I get to do some real one-on-one parenting with each child while the other is sleeping.
